Strand
Releasing was formed in 1989 and its goal has been to fuse quality art
films with commercial product. Strand Releasing was honored with a ten
year retrospective at the New York Museum of Modern Art curated by
Laurence Kardish. Subsequently, the Laemmle Theatres in Los Angeles
and the Philadelphia International Film Festival hosted similar
programs. Partners Jon Gerrans and Marcus Hu were honored with a
lifetime achievement award for Strand Releasing's accomplishments in
2002 from Outfest, the Los Angeles Lesbian and Gay Film Festival.
Over the past 18 years, Strand Releasing has produced or
executive produced ten feature films including Gregg Araki's THE
LIVING END, Richard Glatzer's GRIEF, Tommy O'Haver's BILLY'S HOLLYWOOD
SCREEN KISS, Todd Verow's FRISK, Robert Lee King's PSYCHO BEACH PARTY,
Brian Sloan's I THINK I DO, the films of Bruce LaBruce and Paul Cox's
INNOCENCE.
This
year's slate of films include Aki Kaurismäki's

Strand
Releasing also has a home entertainment division which will be
releasing a deluxe edition of Gregg Araki's THE LIVING END as well
Isaac Julian's LOOKING FOR LANGSTON and YOUNG SOUL REBELS.
Strand
has distributed the works of such renowned international filmmakers as
