Homo PromoDirected by : Jenni Olson HOMO PROMO brings together a spectacular array of movie trailers, while offering a crash course in lesbian, gay, bi, and transgender (LGBT) movie history and a colorful, informative look at nearly every major mainstream gay-themed film produced between 1953 and 1977. Starting with the famous underground smash "Glen or Glenda" (I Changed My Sex)," progressing through "The Boys in the Band," and ending with the drag classic "Outrageous!", we see and hear how “the love that dare not speak its name” begins to first murmur in the cinematic closet, advances to furtive innuendos, and ultimately shouts proudly from the rooftops.
The compilation was curated by Jenni Olson, one of the world’s leading experts on LGBT cinema. She is the founder of PopcornQ.com, a massive LGBT film website, and author of The Queer Movie Poster Book.
